Frequency of Various Breast Disorders Presenting in HBS Hospital: A Local Experience

Objective: To determine frequency of different breast disorders in female patients varying age groups presenting to HBS Hospital Islamabad. Study design: A prospective descriptive study Place and duration: This was conducted department General Surgery from 1st May 2019 31 Dec 2021. Methodology: All surgical OPD indoor 2021 for diseases with no limitation were included the study. Data as at presentation, symptoms, clinical features, risk factors, investigations ultrasound specimen reports if any recorded submitted histopathology analysis. Results: total of225female Frequency follows. Fibroadenoma lump found (n=69) followed bicyclical mastalgia (n=62),breast abscess (n=27), duct ectasia (n=18), carcinoma (n=13),sebaceous cyst (n=9), mastitis (n=8), cracked nipples (n=8),non-cyclical (n=4),galactorrhea (n=3), budding (n=1), phylloides tumor blood stained nipple discharge (n=1) eczema frequency. Age ranged 9-85 years mean 51.5 years. Conclusion: is commonest disease but pattern rapidly changing towards fibrocystic especially young females.
